Efficacy of Tooth Bleaching With Prior Application of Two Different Desensitizing Agents: An In Vitro Study

Objective To compare and evaluate the efficacy of tooth bleaching with prior application two different desensitizing agents such as sodium fluoride 5% potassium nitrate. Materials methods A total 108 extracted human maxillary central incisors were stained in black coffee solution stored artificial saliva for colour stabilization. The specimens randomly divided into three groups (n = 36) according to following protocols: (a) without desensitizer, (b) fluoride, (c) After fabricating customized trays, desensitizers applied 10 minutes followed by 16% carbamide peroxide gel, which was contact teeth hours. evaluated at baseline (after staining), 3rd day, 7th 14th day using a digital spectrophotometer. Results There an increase overall change (∆E) from statistically significant cervical, middle, incisal thirds between group showing decreased ∆E.
